Brymbo Steelworks

Brymbo Steelworks No 1 Blast Furnace

In my professional studies lecture on thursday with Adam Cooke and Dave Gill,  an opportunity came up that we could do, and that could be used for part of our professional studies module. They showed us different photographs of an Steelworks, that is just outside of Wrexham, that needs help in archiving thousands of photos and information regarding the Steelworks, when it was in action.
A few students are already working on the project, getting ready for an exhibition on 26th October 2008, at Brymbo Steelworks. I can't help them on the saturday because I am working on saturday, but The Local Heritage Trust wants to Archive all the information, Photographs and Documents of the Steelworks, and I am really interested getting involved with the scheme in the long term. The Trust wants to use video to interview the last generation of workers that worked at Brymbo Steelworks, because they are worried that all the stories and traditions will die with the last generation of workers that worked there until 1990.
I am going to get in contact with other students that are helping with this scheme, and hopefully have the opportunity to join in, and help with this worthwhile scheme.
